Dr. Richard M. Winters has been on the medical staff at HackensackUMC since 1998. Rick obtained his BS degree at Tufts University where he studied biology and was a member of the Jumbos football team and the President of the Inter-fraternity Council. Rick subsequently obtained his MD degree at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Winters’ post-graduate surgical education included a full 5-year general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut where he served as the program Chairman’s Administrative Chief Resident and became Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1996. Rick continued his Plastic Surgery residency at Cornell/The New York Hospital and became Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in1999 and re-certified 2009. Dr. Winters then went on to complete fellowship training in complex reconstructive microsurgery at The Buncke Clinic/Davies Medical Center in San Francisco in 1999.
Dr. Winters currently has an active practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at HackensackUMC and the Vanguard Surgical Center while maintaining the Vice Chair in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as the Director of Facial Restoration/Reanimation. Rick has been on the Board of Governors, has served as the President of the Hackensack University Medical Center Staff, Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee in addition to serving the medical center and the medical staff on numerous committees including Quality /Safety and Peer Review. Rick has been recognized and awarded for clinical excellence in Plastic Surgery by multiple local, regional and national organizations.
The current focus of Dr. Winters practice has become largely dedicated to the mastery of rhinoplasty and revisionary aesthetic surgery.
