Grant S. Hamilton, III, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with a special interest in rhinoplasty. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois, recognized as the Outstanding Senior in the program at graduation. After medical school, he completed a residency in Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa followed by a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago during which he was able to begin combining his interest in art, design and craft with medicine and surgery.
Dr. Hamilton is actively involved in educating medical students, residents, and fellows in both Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery. Clinically, he practices a breadth of Facial Plastic Surgery with an emphasis on rhinoplasty — especially challenging secondary surgeries. Dr. Hamilton is frequently invited to teach outside of Mayo Clinic and has given over 300 invited national and international lectures. He has won multiple teaching awards at the departmental and institutional levels and has been consistently named a “Top Doctor” since 2011.
He is Board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is currently Associate Professor and Consultant at Mayo Clinic, and Chair of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
