Dr. Murrell earned a medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine on a full Navy scholarship. He completed an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at Duke University and a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Murrell’s Navy career included assignments at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California. He retired as a Captain. Dr. Murrell is double board-certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and The American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Triological Society. He currently serves as Vice President of The Rhinoplasty Society. Dr. Murrell has published two dozen scientific articles and given over three dozen national presentations dealing with Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Murrell is in private practice with Bayview ENT-Facial Plastic Surgery in coastal Virginia.
